I believe this is actually the opposite of the solution — we as consumers need to choose to avoid these products and services. Unfortunately they have become so ubiquitous that it is near impossible, but Puri.sm and others are making an effort to produce privacy-first devices that do not run proprietary code from Apple or Google.
